USS Bayfield, APA-33, circa 1945. It’s a family photo - note that the radar antennas are not censored out, as they probably would be in official photograph’s during the war. Missing from this photo is the little typed sentence “Pride of the Amphibious Fleet” that was under it. Again, crewed by the Coast Guard, who served as the amphibious assault arm of the Navy during the war.
